Frontiers of Soil Science FSS accepts contributions that further our understanding of chemical, physical and biological processes and their interactions which define and control soil function, development and distribution, contribute to interdisciplinary understanding and aspects of soil function in ecosystem services. Assess soil biodiversity, its functions and interactions with microbial genetics. Research on the role of soil in human health, as a source of new antibiotics, and in the management of metabolites and nanoparticles from applications of waste water, organic and inorganic amendments to the soil. Papers will be published immediately after acceptance or at the earliest possible time. The journal invites submissions primarily of original research articles, as well as survey articles and reviews relevant to its context.

Frontiers of Soil Science will be indexed by Scopus, CNKI Scholar, Google Scholar, Index Copernicus, DOAJ, and SCI after several consecutive issues have been published.


Frontiers of Soil Science does not have an Impact Factor being a new journal. It will work with Thomson Reuters (ISI) to ensure that citation analysis of articles published in Frontiers of Soil Science will be available within the shortest possible time.


Submission of a manuscript implies that authors have met the requirements of the editorial policy and publication ethics. Authors retain the copyright of their articles published in the journal. However, authors agree that their articles remain permanently open access under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License 4.0 International License.
